In this talk historian Dr Helen Frisby will explore English funeral customs since the medieval era, and how we continue nowadays to relate to death, dying and the dead.


This talk is part of the Festival of Archaeology in Sydney Gardens, Bath - a partnership project betweeen the Roman Baths and the Sydney Gardens Project.

Dr Helen Frisby is an internationally recognised expert on the history, folklore and material culture of death, dying and bereavement. She’s previously appeared on The History Channel discussing Victorian funerals with Johnny Vaughan, and on BBC Radio 4 and the World Service.
