Join us for an introduction to Compassionate Mind Therapy developed by Professor Paul Gilbert.  This approach is a cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy that builds on the science by integrating the neuroscience of positive emotion, and methods derived from Buddhist psychology.

Topics to be covered during the workshop:

  • how to develop a compassionate mind approach to ourselves

  • how to help clients develop a greater compassionate mind to their difficulties to reduce self-blaming and negative thought patterns

  • how a compassionate mind approach can help clients with chronic depression, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders

  • where to go for specialist training and more information

The workshop is facilitated by Rachel Wesley, who after a HR career in the financial and professional services sector, has spent over 10 years as a mental health practitioner, primary care counsellor and counselling team leader with the NHS.  In addition, to this she runs a busy private therapy practice working with a range of local and national organisations. Rachel is an experienced trainer and has been a popular and knowledgeable speaker at previous 1point workshops.
