#Experimentals

Posted on behalf of Duda Rodrigues

#Experimentals is a film installation that explores my response to selected photographers work. Each film follows a photography genre that has been adapted to moving image. This installation is part of my graduate project for my BA Film degree, in this project I decided to take a very experimental take by mixing different techniques going for a artistic vibe of colour, movement and distortion.

All three films are one major piece, the first film follows the genre of human figure based on the work of Lucyna Koledo who uses a lot of close ups and deem lighting to capture the human body in a more personal aspect. The second film follows the genre of social documentary based on the work of Abelardo Ojeda who uses slow shutter and high contrast to capture the day to day city life. The third and last film follows the genre of abstract based on the work of Bill Armstrong who uses blur to capture the world in a different perspective. Linking the films together I took inspiration from Brice Bischoff on the use of colour.

So, if you're ready to experience an experimental film installation, come along!!

CPS Wessex Community Conversations Event

Posted on behalf of Wendy Wyeth, Inclusion and Community Engagement Manager

Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) Wessex is excited to be hosting "Community Conversations" in 2019.

CPS Wessex will be meeting with local community groups across Hampshire and Isle of Wight, Dorset and Wiltshire to increase knowledge of our work, listen to feedback and concerns from our communities, and raise awareness of criminal behaviour that might be effecting people across all three counties.

Nicola Haywood, Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor, and Wendy Wyeth, Inclusion and Community Engagement Manager, are working in partnership with Bernadette Macdonald-Raggett, Dorset Community Volunteer, to engage with you at the first of our Community Conversations sessions in Dorset.

This event is for Black and Ethnic Minority Women across Dorset.

You are invited to join us at The Savoy Hotel in Bournemouth on 6 June 2019, between 11am and 1pm, where you will have the opportunity to learn more about our role within the Criminal Justice System.

We will be discussing themes such as:

  • The role of the CPS within the Criminal Justice System

  • What do we do and how do we do it?

  • What is a Hate Crime?   Why are Sentence Uplifts so important?

  • Violence against Women and Girls

  • What support is available to victims and witnesses

  • Examples of cases recently prosecuted in Wessex

  • Community Engagement

As much as we want to improve your knowledge and confidence in the work of the CPS, we also want to hear from you.   You will have the opportunity to tell us your concerns, ask questions and give us some feedback.

Lunch and refreshments provided - please email wendy.wyeth@cps.gov.uk with any dietary requirements.
