About Cherry Trees

Cherry Trees is a small charity providing home-from-home specialist short breaks for children and young adults aged 0-19 with a range of complex disabilities including learning, physical and sensory impairments.

Founded in 1980 by a group of parents and doctors, Cherry Trees is a lifeline for the families of more than 100 children and young people who are regularly cared for here, whether it be after school for a few hours, a weekend or even a couple of weeks stay.

Cherry Trees is a unique place, providing professional care in a safe, stimulating and fun environment, where every child is valued for who they are. It is a community that is dedicated to children and young people, enabling them to spend time with friends and enjoy new experiences and opportunities, while their families have a much needed break.

We have lots of amazing fundraising events throughout the year and we love to get the local community involved. Whether it's a music concert, sporting event, fundraising dinner or summer fair, we have something for everyone to get involved in!

Burns Night Fundraiser in aid of Cherry Trees

Join us on the birthday of Robert Burns, 25th January to celebrate his life, works and Scottish culture!

The drab of January can be done away with by booking tickets to our hearty evening, which will include a traditional 3 course Scottish dinner, piping in of the haggis, recitals of Burns poetry and a Ceilidh.

For those people who are interested in attending a Burns night, but aren't sure what a Ceilidh entails, a live band playing lively folk music accompanied by a Caller directs the dancers to the beat. The caller will set the dancers up in formations and then calls the moves, giving everyone a chance to have a go, regardless of dancing ability.

Kingsfolk will be our Ceilidh band for the night and you can listen to and watch an example of one of their previous events here to give you an idea of how a Ceilidh works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFsEu_kIN0Q

There will be a bar available during the evening and plenty of parking. Feel free to come in tartan, knitted socks and in kilts - the more Scottish the better!

Tickets are on sale now: £35 per person. Book now to avoid disappointment.

Come and join Cherry Trees for their special Charity Dinner at St.George's Hill Golf Club

Located within the beautiful setting of St.George's Hill Golf Club, and offering you some unique delights, the Cherry Trees Charity Dinner will give you a smile on your face and a warmth in your heart.

You will be greeted with a glass of Bruce and Sibylla Tindale's High Clandon Cuvée from their very own High Clandon Estate Vineyard- the quintessence of English sparkling wine – to provide a delectable start to the event.

As you sip on your beautiful bubbly you will be treated to an exclusive musical performance. Shane Thomas is hailed as Britain’s Mozart and it is easy to see why. Achieving his piano Grade 8 at the age of nine with no lessons, he became an outstanding young composer by the age of 11, performing for the Prime Minister and endorsed by the Royal Family. His personal story is fascinating and inspirational and we are thrilled to be able to offer a private concerto performance in this intimate setting.

The evening will continue with a three course dinner and some fascinating heart-warming stories to surprise and delight!

Tickets are available to purchase below at £50 per ticket.

If you have any questions about the event, please do not hesitate to contact the Fundraising Office on 01483 222507 or email Jill, our head of Fundraising at fundraising@cherrytrees.org.uk.

We look forward to seeing you there.
