26th Avenue live for Dean's Champions

Posted on behalf of Dean's Champions

Indie-Pop band 26th Avenue from Crawley, West Sussex have joined forces with Dean's Champions to put on a speical live night of music to fundraise for Dean Govier.

Over the last 5 years Dean, 37 from Lingfield, has spent a huge amount of time being the driving force behind raising an incredible amount of money for a variety of charities through events and running a number of half marathons and marathons including the coveted London Marathon in 2018 in aid of Children with Cancer. Fast forward a year and now Dean is taking on the biggest battle of his life, having been diagnosed with stage four cancer on 7th May 2019. Dean's Champions has been launched by friends and ex-colleagues to raise money to give Dean the opportunity to make memories with his wife and daughters, Aubrey who is 5 and Madison 2 and he has quite a bucket list to get through including a trip to the seaside, visiting the zoo, a weekend at Center Parcs and a trip of a lifetime to Orlando.

Set to be a great night, the band were formed in 2018 and instantly clicked. They began working on writing their own material using inspiration from 3 decades of indie rock. The band have been playing local shows since forming, playing their original music which has been played on local stations; accompanies by covers from bands such as: Oasis, Kings of Leon, Fleetwood Mac & The White Stripes.

As well as the live music there will be a BBQ with all ticket sales and proceeds going to Dean's Champions. You can find out more about the campaign on our official Facebook page and make donations through our shop

We would love everyone to come in their DC t-shirts (if you have one) which can be purchased from
