Special Afternoon Presentation for Sussex Groomers

Dogs Trust Shoreham invites local Groomers for a special presentation

It’s only been 2 weeks since we hosted our biggest event of the year, our Summer Fun Day, here at Dogs Trust Shoreham – and what a wonderful day it was!

Having finished counting all the pennies, thanking all of our wonderful helpers & supporters and taking a moment (or two!) to rest up, we are now ready to look to the future – and our next event!

As we look at the ways we can continue to help stray and abandoned dogs, it makes us think about the thousands of dogs our charity has helped and rehomed. This reminds us that none of it would be possible without the help of the local community and the businesses supporting us.

In appreciation of this, we are inviting local Sussex Groomers to join us for an Afternoon Presentation on Friday, 21st June 2019 at our Training Barn at the Shoreham Rehoming Centre!

This is a fantastic chance to learn more about our free services, such as our Canine Care Card Scheme, and includes the option to have a guided tour around our facilities.

If you’re a Sussex Groomer & interested in attending the above – or would be interested in a special VIP tour of our Shoreham Rehoming Centre - please get in touch with Pia & Lisa by calling 01273 466 971 or emailing &

Shoreham Supporter Relations Officers prepare for ‘Paw’-some events

Although the weather has left us ‘out in the rain’ over the last few days, we brought the sunshine – or rather the bright & sunny colour yellow – into the office while preparing for this summer’s exciting events at Dogs Trust Shoreham!

Some of our kind readers may already be aware of the work we SROs (Supporter Relations Officers) here at Dogs Trust Shoreham do, such as answering enquiries and questions about Dogs Trust’s services, including comprehensive information about our FREE Canine Care Card Scheme (a free service which gives owners peace of mind, knowing that we will care for their dogs should they pass away before their four-legged friends). We also give VIP ‘behind-the-scenes tours of the rehoming centre and hold free presentations for adult community and social groups (where possible accompanied by honorary team member Coco, Lisa’s Chocolate Labrador!).

In addition, we plan & manage all of the rehoming centre’s events, such as the upcoming annual Fun Day (taking place on Sun, 26th May from 11.30am to 4pm this year) and the festive Christmas Fair – as well as some smaller supporter events such as our first ever “Woof & Wisdom” Quiz Night (scheduled to take place mid-autumn)! We also organise & participate at external events such as the ever-so-popular Brighton Pride Parade, where we’re accompanied by our big yellow “Dogcilla”, and hold stalls at local community events.

This summer we will also bring back last year’s popular “Seek & Sniff” self-guided walk, which will run throughout the month of August and is a great past time for the whole family during the school holidays!

If you would like to learn more about our upcoming events, how to donate items or book a talk or rehoming centre tour, please call us on 01273 466 971 or email &!

We look forward to see you soon!

Love Dogs Forever by remembering Dogs Trust in your Will

Leaving a gift in your Will can be a wonderful way to make a significant difference to the 300+ dogs coming through our doors annually here at the Shoreham rehoming centre – as well as the thousands of dogs in our care across the UK & Ireland. Legacies play an important role in ensuring that we can continue our vital work - just knowing that we can count on our supporter’s help well into the future, while costing you nothing in your lifetime!

No matter if the gift is monetary or a so called “Gift in Kind” where a specified item is left to Dogs Trust (for example property, jewellery or such), all donations mean that we can continue helping all 15,000 lost or abandoned dogs coming through our rehoming centres each year.

In addition, many friends & family members of dog-loving supporters decide to make donations to Dogs Trust in memory of their loved ones. For this we have specifically branded “In-Memory” donation envelopes as well as donation pots available, which clearly confirm where the donations will go to at funerals.

If you would like to have a confidential chat about leaving a legacy to Dogs Trust or find out more about any of the above mentioned, please don’t hesitate to call local Supporter Relations Officers Lisa & Pia at Dogs Trust Shoreham on 01273 466 971 or email &

Introducing Benny

My name is Benny, I am a very sweet boy currently being cared for by Dogs Trust Shoreham, although I am having a very pleasant stay I am keeping my paws crossed I will find my new forever home soon. So as to make myself useful whilst I’m here, I have volunteered for a very important role indeed …the Master Helper of the Organizers …!

Every year our carers hold a 🎉 Fun Day 🎉 to try and raise as much as possible for dogs like me and my four-legged friends; fantastic companions, and lovely characters who have been found neglected or abandoned. This year, we have consolidated a quite exciting Sponsorship Package, that we offer to local businesses:

If for whatever reason you're unable to take us up on any of the Sponsorship Packages, you might want to help us raise money by Donating a Prize (such as a voucher, some wine, spirits or a box/tin of chocolates) for our Games, Tombolas and/ or Raffle?

As we know our supporters would 💛 LOVE 💛 to try and win them! Any contributions would be so gratefully received and will help ensure Dogs Trust Shoreham can keep hundreds of fellow canines happy and healthy this year whilst they look for new homes.

Yours (with paws tightly crossed) 🐾

Benny - 4-legged Helper of the Dogs Trust Shoreham Fun Day 2019
