Voluntary Sector Listening and Discovery Session 31st January

Voluntary Sector Listening and Discovery Session 31st January

Collecting stories about what is best in the area, what people value and how could things be different in the future, both in terms of services and a broader range of community based resources.

DY1 Building, main hall, Stafford Street, Dudley, DY5 1RT

Wednesday 31st January from 2pm-4.30pm

Dudley Council is seeking to hear from a wide range of people in the borough to understand what matters to them, what they value locally and how adults should be supported across the borough. In particular, they want to develop a new long-term relationship between organisations and communities which changes the nature of support and enables partnership and collaboration between the two.

The Ideas Alliance have been employed by Dudley Council to help them meet and listen to people by using story-telling as a medium for gathering insight. The Ideas Alliance is collecting stories from as many Dudley residents as possible with a focus on what is best in the area, what do they value and how could things be different in the future, both in terms of services and a broader range of community based resources.

To support this project, the Ideas Alliance are really keen to hear from you and your colleagues from the local voluntary and community sector, as you have unique experience and expertise on the ground and your stories will be so valuable in strengthening the insight gathered so far. In order to bring you all together, the Ideas Alliance is partnering with Dudley CVS to host a 'discovery' session on Wednesday 31st January from 2pm-4.30pm. During this session, you will be given an introduction to the overall project and the concepts behind it and then you will experience an appreciative approach which demonstrates how different questions can be asked and responses analysed.

The themes and priorities which emerge will directly inform the wider research and will ensure that your voice is included and heard.

Do feel free to bring a colleague or someone you support or work with - everyone is very welcome - and pass this invitation on to whoever you think might be interested.

We are really looking forward to seeing you on the 31st and hearing your stories!
