STAINED GLASS IN EXETER (for non-members)

STAINED GLASS IN EXETER (for non-members)

Posted on behalf of Exeter Local History Society

Talk by Andrew Johnson who set up his business in 1980, and has worked on cathedrals, minsters, parish churches, country houses and private houses as well as, over the years, with English Heritage, National Trust, Devon Historic Churches Trust and the Council for the care of Churches.

His conservation work is on the principle of minimum intervention, conserving and caring for glass and restoring only where the glass is completely lost due to vandal and/or storm damage.

Andrew is committed to the principle  that glass should be cared for and passed on for next generations to enjoy. His intention is always that the original purpose of the glass is conserved and renewed , whether this involves complete conservation and re-leading of glass, to isothermal protection, or stainless steel window mesh protection.
