Supported Living halow Buddy/ Support Worker (Full Time  - Drivers with access to own vehicle)

Remember how it felt when you first moved into your own home?

Leaving the family nest, striking out on your own or living with friends, doing your own thing: finally. Imagine how a young person with a learning disability feels when they finally feel ready to make this big step and somebody out there actually provides the opportunity and support to do just that!

We are urgently looking for Supported Living halow Buddies to provide personalised support to young people with a learning disability, within their own home. You will be required to work A rolling shift pattern which could include early mornings, evenings, weekends and sleep-ins however full training is provided for this. You must be motivated to make a difference everyday and have a real passion for supporting young people with a learning disability.

As a halow Buddy you will find that no day is the same. Working with young people can be extremely rewarding and we are looking for engergetic, enthusiastic and empathetic individuals to join our ever growing team.

Are you searching for a fulfilling role working with young people that fits around your daily life?

We are seeking fun, patient, reliable and motivated people to join our friendly Buddy Service team. Buddies work flexible, part time hours, day time, evenings and weekends potentially perfect for fitting in around your studies, home life or other commitments.

Our Buddy service offers our young people with learning disabilities 1:1 support, promoting life skills, independence, social skills, leisure opportunities and assisting young people to access the local and wider community in ways which best suit them. Buddies and young people are matched according to their hobbies, interests and other individual needs.

All of our Buddies are DBS checked and receive a full induction, training, and supervision with opportunities to progress. Training modules include first aid, epilepsy awareness, safeguarding adults among many others. Read more about the role and what it's like to be a buddy.

Hours of shift

Female or male only buddy


Weds 6- 9pm

Male – socialising, access community, keen interest in football and sports


Tuesday or Thursday evenings plus additional during holidays



Alternate Sundays 12 - 4pm



Friday 9.30am – 1.30am

Either – exp ASD pref


Saturday or Sunday – 2 hours initially

Male – pref able to discuss football and the news, willing to play tennis, squash and table tennis


One weekday 5 – 7pm

Either – exp of challenging behaviour pref


Mondays 9am - 12pm

Either – travel training



Male – life skills and socialising. He is a Star Wars fan!


One weekday evening

Female – travel training and socialising in local community inc possibly clubbing


Thursday 10.30am – 2.30pm

Female - Socialising, travel training
