Can you spare a few hours on a Tuesday? Between 10am and 1pm we will be carrying out important conservation work on Horsell Common. The task is reducing the spreading pine and birch tree saplings across the Heather areas. These areas are important to keep open for rare birdlife that lay their eggs on the ground between the heather plants and to keep open areas of bare earth for basking reptiles and invertebrates, some specific to heathland.
Booking is required via email; Rachel@horsellcommon.org.uk; call or call; 01483 766189. The meeting place will be confirmed to you on booking. This is important for any cancellations due to weather or other events. If it is a different venue from the last Tuesday group a map will be sent to you.
Please bring your own drinking water
but a hot drink and biscuits are provided.
Min age is 16 years, DoE participants are welcome from 14 years but a parent/guardian must supervise if they are under 16.
