Volunteer Tuesday 17th March

Between 10am and 1pm we will be carrying out important work on Horsell Common. We will be working on the Common to remove leggy gorse , some pine and birch saplings that are taking over a footpath and blocking a fire service access point.

We will be meeting at The Triangle; email for a map of the exact location.

Please bring your own drinking water but a hot drink and biscuits are provided.

Min Age is 16 years, DoE participants are welcome from 14 years but a parent/guardian must supervise.

Please bring plenty of waterproof layers, gardening type gloves and sturdy footwear. Also plenty of drinking water! May need wellies!!

Horsell Common Preservation Society (HCPS) own and manage areas of common land with public access including Horsell Common, Heather Farm, Pyrford Common, Littlewick Common, Woodham Common and various parcels of adjacent land. HCPS is a charity run by volunteer trustees who along with two employees Paul Rimmer - Estate Manager and Rachel Woodman - Senior Ranger are responsible for maintaining approximately 80% of Woking's open spaces, which provide vital environmental benefits for the Borough.

HCPS rely upon the time and efforts of public and corporate volunteers to assist with regular common land maintenance and for special projects including building of easy access paths.
