Leisure Learning: Starting out in Sculpture

This course will introduce you to a range of 3D processes to explore your creative imagination, develop new skills and understanding of sculpture, and test out a range of different ways of working with 3D materials.

Sculpture includes a wide range of creative activity. This course will guide you through various simple tasks and methods to develop ideas and learn from the three dimensional environment. You will explore mixed-media materials and drawing, planning, making and experimentation, alongside manageable techniques and skills used for working in three-dimensions. We will undertake tasks that explore assembling and building form and volume, modular construction from small everyday items, and learn basic observational skills and construction techniques involving a variety of media and methods.

Course Start Date: Thursday 26th September 2019

Course End Date:  Thursday 5th December 2019

Dates Excluded: Half Term holiday – Thursday 24th October 2019 

Timings: 6:30 - 8:30pm

Entry Requirements: None

Duration: 10 weeks / 2 hours per session

Enrolment End Date: Thursday 19th September 2019

Please note that the enrolment for this course closes 5 working days prior to the start of the course. Unfortunately it is not possible to process late enrolments after that point. 

Please note that there are college events on Thursday 7th November and Thursday 14th November 2019 which is likely to mean that there will be a higher volume of people on site including using the car parking and refreshment facilities on that date.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?


Parking will be available at the College with no charge after 6pm. A parking map can be found here. Please be advised that parking may be limited when the events are on at the college. 


What do I need to bring to the course?


You will need: Sketchbook, pens, pencils and common drawing materials.
