Keynsham Kindness Festival Programme

Posted on behalf of Keynsham Action Network /Kind Keynsham
We have an exciting full programme for the 10 days of our Festival from 3rd-13th November, finishing on World Kindness Day.

All on the theme of how Kindness benefits Wellbeing, looking at 5 ways to wellbeing:

Take Notice

Be Active

Keep Learning

We have a wide range of mostly free activities across Keynsham and beyond

If you can't get to any of them, don't worry, you can still join in by sharing any kindness stories you have on social medial using #kindness_connects

Throughout the Festival look for YELLOW (our #kindness colour) throughout #Keynsham

Mention #Kindness Festival any time from 3rd-13th November at Longwell Records for a free record from the £2 box with any purchase

Mention the #Kindness Festival any time from 3rd to 13th Suave Owl to get a free tie with every shirt purchased

Free bra fitting and discounted purchases Perfect Fit any time between 3rd & 13th November

The dance element of the festival was inspired by Life Vest Inside's Dance for Kindness which takes place across the globe every year on 11th November. (See .

Unfortunately, we felt this wasn't appropriate for us here in Keynsham because of the Remembrance Sunday commemorations. However, we're delighted that local dance schools have contributed some great events during the 10 days of the Kindness Festival.

All dance classes: first class free! All these classes are available for people interested in a free trial up to Christmas not just during the Kindness week. Many thanks to Keyford Dancing School, Heidi-Marie Dance Academy and Cloud 9 Modern Jive.

Dance is a great way to keep fit and enhances wellbeing! See below for details

Keyford Dancing School will also be doing a dance show at Broadlands Academy 9th 10th & 11th November with a theme about the Armistice : The Dancing Year and the Remembrance

There will also be a great chance to join in a T-jive around the town on Tuesday 6th November (see below for details)

Keynsham Action Network

KAN was set up by local GP Dr William House.

Through building relationships with individuals and local voluntary and statutory organisations we generate an understanding of patterns of need and of inclusion and exclusion within the community. We use that understanding to work with existing organisations and individuals to promote greater connectivity, collaboration and understanding of the needs of individuals and voluntary groups and how they can be met in sustainable ways. We do this by holding networking events (and encouraging others to hold similar events) at which communication and collaboration between individuals and voluntary groups can be facilitated with a view to greater mutual understanding, better use of resources and social inclusion; by promoting the wider availability and use of local news media and social media to help people to be more aware of local opportunities; by identifying and supporting individuals and informal groups with ideas likely to improve social inclusion; by holding educational events to improve knowledge and understanding of the social, environmental and economic problems faced by the community and how these might be resolved by local action.
