Menopausé Cafe Lincoln

Menopausé Cafe Lincoln

Posted on behalf of Louise White

My names Louise and I’m delighted to be hosting my second Menopause Café, which will be continued on the first Tuesday of every month at my clinic Body Lipo Lincoln on High Street in Lincoln city centre.

Women and men of all ages are invited to Lincolnshire’s second Menopause Café on Tuesday 7 May, after the success of Lincoln's first café which we hosted in April. The café is a safe, open and comfortable environment for guests to eat cake, drink tea and discuss menopause.

It’s set up to break down taboos and increase awareness of the impact the menopause can have on friends, colleagues and families.

The Menopause Café is an opportunity to talk openly and honestly about these so-called ‘taboos’. I’m looking forward to connecting more local women together and welcoming new women into the group, to share stories and experiences, and build a real community in the areaMenopause Cafe was founded by Rachel Weiss in Perth, Scotland so we are delighted to introduce this to Lincoln with the strong principles of no intention of leading participants to any conclusion, product or course of action. As an open, respectful and confidential space where people can express their views safely. On a not for profit basis. Alongside refreshing drinks and nourishing food.

Unfortunately, many women feel that they should just ‘get on with’ the menopause, with some never talking to their friends or family about it, but the reality is that it affects all women eventually, not forgetting those who live and work with them. People can come along and just listen, or join in on the discussions, hopefully leaving with a clearer sense of the impact of the menopause on those who are experiencing it, alongside their families, friends and colleagues.

I look forward to welcoming you all.
