Greenham Remembered

Greenham Remembered

Posted on behalf of Our Chartist Heritage Women's History Group

Following the success of our first event in May 2019 we're holding our second event on 26th October 2019.

Join us for our next collaboration event between USW Centre for Gender Studies and Our Chartist Heritage Women’s History Group.

We can't wait to welcome you to 'GREENHAM REMEMBERED' where we'll be sharing personal stories and the inspiring history of Greenham Common.

DID YOU KNOW…that a group of women, organised by Ann Pettitt, walked from Cardiff to Greenham Common in August 1981.

Their collective response to the siting of American cruise missiles at an air base on British soil was the start of a female solidarity movement that would reach far and wide.

new women's peace movement commencing with the WOMEN FOR LIFE ON EARTH march was born and sustained at GREENHAM COMMON PEACE CAMP.

Join us and our speakers, Professor Madeleine Gray and Councillor Sue Lent, WOMEN FOR LIFE ON EARTH marcher for what promises to be a wonderful event.
