Supporting Students in Difficulty - Preston

Posted on behalf of PRiME Advanced

***It is necessary to register if you wish to attend due to workshop capacity***  If the event is full, there will be a limited number of waiting list places available. Once these have been taken and the event is sold out, we recommend you look at future workshop dates.

This session will include both a brief information giving element (to ensure that participants know where to access up to date information around student support), and also a chance to discuss real world scenarios that might create dilemmas for staff and students alike.

By the end of the session, participants should be able to:

  1.  Discuss appropriate approaches to a range of scenarios in which student might be identified as needing support.

  2.  Identify key sources of advice and guidance that can be used when students ask for support

  3.  Outline where the University has obligations to offer support and where our boundaries lie.

These sessions are part of a series of staff development workshops run by the University of Manchester - School of Medical Sciences. For further details and related workshops please see the PRiME website.
