Kingston Vale care home celebrates national award win

A care home in KingstonVale is celebrating after it was recognised at a national awards ceremony.

The Residential Care Services (RCS) Stars awardsrecognise individual and team excellence at more than 100 care homes nationwideacross Care UK’s RCS division.

Having received nominations for three categories, SherwoodGrange on Robin Hill Lane beat off stiff competition to win the MeaningfulLifestyles award, one of 22 awards handed out during the event.

The prize was given in recognition of thelifestyle team at Sherwood Grange, who are constantly thinking of fun andinteresting activities for residents to enjoy, while encouraging independence.

Residents have taken part in virtual realitysessions, theatre visits and even embarked on a holiday to Dorset. Familymembers of Sherwood Grange residents believe that the team have added years totheir loved ones’ lives and helped them to discover a whole new lease of life.

Rick Mayne, home manager at Sherwood Grange, said: “The RCS awards ceremony was a trulyinspirational evening – it was brilliant to hear about the compassion anddedication of team members, as well as the positive impact this has had onresidents, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives.
