About Worthing Rethink Mental Health Carers Group

Worthing Rethink Mental Health Carers Group is a peer support group of local people interested in Mental Health issues. The aim of the group is to provide information and support for families and friends of people affected by mental illness.

Anybody is welcome to come along to our monthly meetings. There will usually be a speaker on mental health issues. We also offer a cuppa and a chance to share experiences and mutual support from within the group, people who have already been through many of the situations that can arise. Hopefully we can also signpost you to the agencies that can help you solve any deeper problems.

As a group weare affiliated to Rethink, the national organisation for mental health carers, which offers support for carers and a national voice on carer issues but membership is not required.

Meetings are free but a small donation to cover the refreshments would be appreciated.

Worthing Rethink Mental Health Carers Group (WMHAW)

An extra meeting as part of Worthing Mental Health Awareness Week (WMHAW), where our guest speaker will be be confirmed, who discuss with us how mental health Trust get their funding and the challenges in the current financial climate.

The meeting will take place at Offington Methodist Church in South Farm Road (on the corner of Broadwater Green). The meeting is open to everyone. So, if you are a service user, a carer or just someone who is interested in mental health issues this meeting is for you.
